Together with ETIFOR, we support reforestation
In order to reduce the environmental impact of our activities, we have also chosen to implement several actions within the company, such as energy saving, use of renewable energy, and one in particular that is very close to our hearts: planting trees to support reforestation.
Our collaboration with WOWnature by ETIFOR, a spin-off of the University of Padova that helps companies to become “Climate Positive” by valuing nature through innovative policies and good governance, will result in the reforestation of an area that was severely damaged by Storm Vaia in 2018.
WOWnature is the world’s first initiative that enables citizens, organisations and companies to grow new forests and protect existing ones, in accordance with the highest forest management standards, such as the Forest Stewardship Council® certification.
Today, this area of the Plane of the Seven Municipalities of Asiago is no longer surrounded by the forests of the past. However, thanks to our support, another step can be taken towards the restoration of these wonderful woods, with a renewed awareness of the importance of environmental protection.
After planting these trees, Bericah S.p.A. will continue its support by taking care of them for the first three years of their life, maintaining the commitment made and certifying it through a document attesting their planting and protection.
Planting trees in this area means recognising the environmental value and the historical importance of this fascinating place, one of the largest and best-known green lungs in the Veneto region and in Italy.
All this is possible thanks to the owners and managers of the Enego forests, who have been willing to participate from the very beginning.
The initiative promoted by WOWnature is also supported by organisations and individuals who care about forests and understand their inestimable value.
By planting and protecting these trees, we can offset CO2 emissions and mitigate the effects of climate change.
Bericah S.p.A. is proud to contribute to the recovery of the forest and, in particular, of this territory of which we are a part, and which still has so much to offer to future generations.
IMPRENDIGREEN:
sustaining the environment has rewarded us
Our commitment is further acknowledged with Imprendigreen, an award for businesses, thanking them for their voluntary commitment to sustainability. This includes implementing practices and actions that benefit the environment, such as reducing resource consumption, minimizing the environmental impact of activities, combating climate change, promoting new technologies in the circular economy, and reusing materials, among other initiatives.
The actions of Bericah S.p.A. have earned the highest score from the national commission Confcommercio-imprese in collaboration with the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa. These actions align with both national and international criteria set by the United Nations and outlined in the EU’s Agenda 2030,
the “Sustainable Development Goals”.
What is Imprendigreen?
Imprendigreen by Confcommercio is a set of actions aimed at sensitizing, educating, and guiding businesses through the transition from a linear economy to a circular economy. It also aims to seize all the opportunities that European and national programs and funds will introduce in the coming years to innovate production, distribution, and service delivery models.
Why is it important?
The ecological transition represents a development opportunity and a strategic area for investment, increasingly so in a future characterized by the need to rethink development, consumption, and production models in a ‘green’ key.
The European Green Deal and the Italian National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) have allocated substantial economic resources specifically to modernize and innovate, in a sustainable way, the entrepreneurial fabric and society as a whole. This is aimed at implementing the Agenda 2030 and achieving the sustainable development goals outlined, taking into account all dimensions of sustainability: environmental, economic, and social.
Confcommercio aims to contribute to the achievement of the objectives outlined by the United Nations, recognizing the urgency of the current historical moment and the moral and social duty to actively engage in building a future with low carbon emissions and climate safety. This future is characterized by a dynamic green economy, a prosperous and inclusive society, and a healthy environment.
